Does true love exist? or is it all hormones and manipulation of senses?
-
i do believe in true divine love between a man and a woman... but lately, i've noticed how men fall in love with me when i make myself unavailable to them, have other interests or act like i don't care (because i really am indifferent). this makes them go crazy over me. there was a guy i really loved, and i had genuine feelings toward him. however, i decided i needed to finish my degree and focus on that before anything else. the more i focused on my tasks, the more he fell for me. i notice that when women chase men, they lose interest. so... is there really true love... or is it all just... a manipulation of senses and physical attraction underneath it all? is there a spiritual component at all?

Answer:
The type of men that you attract or are interested in could account for the reaction that they have to you becoming unavailable, or it could be that they genuinely have feelings for you and when you become indifferent they just try harder to fix the problem. I really don't think that you have found real love yet. When you find real or true love if that is what you want to call it, feels a lot different than infatuation. Infatuation is more generally the chemical reaction that you feel from pheromones. True love, is when you can be who you really are. The person loves all of you including your faults and doesn't try to change you. The person who loves you supports you even when you may not be right. You don't get mad at each other for the little things, and if you have a big problem, you solve it together. Really having someone love you for real, is when you really learn who you are and what you are made of.

I think that love is real, but sometimes, if you get really used to a person, you become less excited to see the person, it would be infatuation.

Men want what they cannot have. This is the reason why women need to keep something in reserve and not give it all. If you do…it’s thank you …I'll call ya.

I think yes, true love does exist, but it is rare. There has to be some physical attraction at first, of course. There is a whole range of electro-chemical reactions that go on in the brain as well, but true love goes FAR beyond that. It acts at a much deeper level. I am not a spiritual person, but there can be a spiritual element to it. But, for it to work, it has to be a two-way thing. Sadly, all too often, one partner will fall head over heels, but the other partner can't or wont recipricate. In my youth, I had two relationships where I had to make all the running, and little if any of my feelings were returned. It can be utterly soul destroying when that happens, and in my opinion, is far worse than being alone!!
