How do I climb the career ladder?

I enjoy experiencing things over climbing the corporate ladder?

  • I havent been known to be a career man. I am accomplished and have several degrees and real estate properties. But I work as a bartender and waiter and done that all over the country most of my life. Im am 40. I have always wanted to "experience" things as opposed to climbing the corporate ladder at one job. This explains why I am not married. I have been dumped by girls who have left me for guys who can provide them stability and security. i have no pension, no 401k plan. Just some stocks and real estate. So why am I so unhappy? I miss my ex who left me for a police officer with a pension. I guess I have no future. I feel empty inside and lonely. I would love to be a flight attendant. Ideal career. But the pay is so low I wouldnt survive. Im moving to chicago to start being normal and climb the corporate ladder. I need a pension. I want a wife and family. But I will probably hate my career. whats the answer to all this? I dont want to be alone anymore.

Look for an independent career woman who doesn't NEED you and just wants to be with you for who you are. She will have her own pension, etc and won't be looking for a meal ticket. Just make sure you aren't looking for a meal ticket...we can spot those guys a mile away and it's a deal breaker.

Career change, something you would have time for yourself and a companion. Take one day at a time. Money is nothing happiness is everything. You cant take belongings with you when you go but at least you could be happy,Life is to short.

Don't settle for climbing the corporate ladder if that is not what makes you happy. Believe me, there are a lot of women out there who will love a man with an entrepreneurial spirit. You can provide for your your retirement without a pension. It sounds like you are making wise investments (real estate and stocks). Use a good investment firm or financial adviser to help you plan for long term support for you and your family, down the road. When you meet the right women, she won't be looking at your financial standing to determine a future with you. She will look at your confidence in yourself, how well you live with in your means, how happy you are with what you do. Most of the men in my family are not in the corporate world and they are so much happier than most of those who are. We only go around once. Whether you choose to be a beach bum, a CEO of a large company, or somewhere in between, do it because you want to do it and do it well!
