How do I remove the list of people wanting to be friends?

• How do I remove the list of people wanting to be friends? Yahoo and Facebook have joined together to create list of people that I don't know, have never known and don't want to known that say want to be my friend. Even thought they say that I can click an "X" and remove them their is no "x" anywhere to be found. I want all of them REMOVED. I will choose who my friend are and I do not need help in that area. These are not even people that have asked to be my friend. Facebook or Yahoo thinks because they might know someone I do I should befriend them. This is not going to happen!!!! I am sorry but I am not very computer smart so I do not know what I am suppose to do. I clicked on every item on that page one thing at a time and never found any thing that I could push to disable anything. Of course I never saw any thing about any thing being deleted. I know that if someone asked to be my friend, when it shows up I can "X" it out to cause them to go away. But what I am talking about is when you click on the word Friends and a page shows up with at last count about 300 pictures with their names and out beside them the words " +1 Friends". It seems clear that the people never asked to be my friends. It seems that Yahoo or Facebook feels that if one of my knows and are friends with these people that I should be reminded to make them my friends also which will never happen.
