How to carry a conversation?

What is a good way to carry a conversation?

• My relationship with my brother and his wife is very strained and only until 9 years later, I realized my way of carrying a conversation is to blame. In an unreal example, let's say I know his wife stays slim because she laxes herself on a daily basis. And in a conversation I might say, "last time we visited with you, I noticed your next door neighbor (and friend) stays very slim. She looks great!. He'll say "Well, of course she does, all those laxatives can keep any body slim! Then I'll say, "I know, and it's so unhealthy to do that. People should be cautious and maybe stick to healthy diets, instead of laxing themselves".... Well, this will be enough for him and his wife to feel resentful towards me. So, taking this same conversation as an example, what would you have said in my place so as to not build up any kind of friction? I hate to be a boring person in a conversation, and in an effort to make it more dynamic, I tend to "round" people's ideas, in an effort to let them know I understood what they expressed, but it seems to backfire when it comes to my brother and his wife. What do I do now?

  there r basically 2 ways to carry on a convo 1st: chump way! when a person starts: cracking cheap jokes, silly comedy, stupidity, insulting known people, abusive talks etc... to bring laughter or grab the attention, it marks the end of convo 2nd: human way! doing the same thing, but LIGHTLY.. by: reminisce of old funny memories...... insulting player, politicians, big people..... appreciating the house/place u r in...... mild compliments & comments (a mixture) to the person's belongings to whom u r talking etc..... (these r just the starters) TIP::: never forget this one! DONT POKE UR STUPID NOSE IN EVERYONE'S MATTER!!! she like's being slim... & u created a typical scene for her... O.K.... let it be man... just be aware of what u gonna say... & not to do the same thing again...
