Why do we give each other nicknames?
-
Okay, so I recently started talking to a guy named Evan. The first night I got his number we txted, and stayed up all night IMing. By that morning we had nicknames for each other. He decided he wanted to call me "Special K" because my last name starts with K, and he said im special. I called him Mi Leche because he made some joke about me being the cereal, and him being the milk. About 4 days later, i txted "hey whats up cookie monster?" and he started calling me "cookie". And lastly, about 3 days after that I said im his biggest fan, and now he calls me "#1 Stunna" and I call him "gangstar" (rockstar+gangster) I know nicknames can have a lot of different underlying meanings, so I would love if I could get some answers on what you think our giving each other nicknames all the time, means. Are we showing signs of feeling endearment towards each other? Even though its only been about a week? (P.S. He also likes to call me "sweetie" but that isnt really a specific nickname.) Thanks so much! Looking forward to some advice! :)

Answer:
He calls you special k because it takes 12 bowls of you to equal the same amount of nutrients in one bowl of total.

there's not problem with giving nicknames. even if you are just friends or if you just started going out. it seems like you both are going through the crush stage of a relationship, where you call each other names, sometimes in a fun way, sometimes in a sweet way. either way, i think it's cute. but don't rush anything because it will make things go a lot faster than you want them to and it can end quicker than you think so don't rush.
because its fun and cooler than real names plus this evan guy probably likes yu
itz a cute and fun way to flirt
Its fun... yes but he also seems to want to flatter you.
because you guys cant remember each others names lol
I don't like nicknames. I like to call people their real names, unless they choose to be addressed strictly by their nickname. Nicknames are sometimes endearing, sometimes a joke about the person that's also endearing. If the person doesn't mind being called by that name, then it's probably endearing.
Ooo iyy, get in there, i think he likes you ;) bit weird after only a week though right? However someone falled for me apparently after three days. hmm Yeah so nicknames to me is something people who are close call each other, if you get what i mean? So you & him must be getting really close :) But it could also just be your ways flirting or having fun. there are lots of different reasons why! :P
It's fun...
