What's Iron Deficiency Anemia?

Iron Deficiency anemia help!?

Hi i have anemia im male and 16 years old. Doctors have never found the cause of why my body doesnt hold iron but they have only done blood tests. I have researched and many things have came up like hookworm were you have to test your stools and it wouldnt come up on a bloodtest. Also like intestione problems they have never checked that. Etc. Im really really pale and i have very purple eyes, also i take iron supplements for years and they havent really done anything. Also im really skinny and eat about 4000 calories a day and cant put on weight is iron deficiency why i CANT ?? My eyes are also pretty blurry but i can see fine and i feel like crap all the time. Please help. Thanks alot.
