Is my tongue ring normal?

Help with tongue ring? is this normal?/:?

  • I'm really frustrated. I got my tongue pierced about 5 days ago (friday) and it was swollen which i know is normal. but now it turned like whitish yellow? it kind of looks like dry skin like all around my tongue. and then right around the piercing itself theres like a yellow film which i heard is normal. and then there was some kind of wierd goo or puss that came out of it and i took it off with a napkin. and ugh this is too much stress is it infected? it doesn't hurt at all really. should I just take it out?

    You should go back to the piercer and find out. I would gargle with warm saltwater till then. Ive had my tongue pierced twice because the first time i let it get really infected by not mouth washing all the time. any time you smoke eat. you need to mouth wash. but if its infected do the salt water. it will draw a lot of the mucus out. They might have to take it out, but they'll let you know. just please go get help because it can become deadly.

Tongues tend to get white after getting them pierced especially if you over clean them with mouthwash. The 'goo' which is puss is completly normal so don't worry its a part of the healing process. You should only worry if the puss is green! tongue piercings infectuon symthoms are severly swollen tongues , bleeding, pain at the piercing sight green puss (sometimes yellow). I highly doubt it is infected but if your still worried go back to your piercer and have them check it. Remember you just got it so its still going through the nasty looking healing phases! It will look way better in like 2 weeks if you take care of it Good luck
