Is CNA a good to start if I want to be a nurse?

I want to be a nurse. What classes should I start taking in high school and how can I get the OK from parents?

• Hey everyone. I sing and play piano and am an avid musician. I sing at baseball games, charity events, and perform a TON. I love to sing and play piano, but I really want to be a nurse. I'm only 14 and people say I will change my mind, but I don't think that I will. I love people, medicine, and everything about nursing. I've done a ton of research and just feel it would be a great fit for me. What classes should I start taking in high school so I have less of a load in college? Also, my mom really, really wants me to be a musician because she was and I don't think I would get the OK from her to be a nurse. My dad just wants me to be happy, but it's mom that I really have to please. To sum it up: 1. What classes should I start taking? 2. How can I get my parents to approve of me being a nurse?   To be an RN in Canada you would have to attend university and get your BSN ( 4 year degree).Taking stuff in high school will not have an affect on what you have to take afterwards. You will need to take math, biology and chemistry in Grade 11 & 12, all at the highest level you can take them at.After high school you will have to complete the prerequisites for the BSN program. This is done by taking certain classes at the university level or there are some programs that collaborate with a college so you do your first 2 years at college and then complete the program at the partnering university. There is no way to force your parents to accept your decision to be a nurse.Once you turn 18 you will be an adult and you can do what you want. Follow your dreams.There is nothing more important than loving what you do. I am a nurse and I can't imagine doing anything else.Best of luck.
