What are the light brown spots on my chest?

I'm sixteen and have what looks like liver spots on my chest?

  • I hardly ever go out in the sun because I'm pale/burn easily, and I don't like the sun anyway as it makes me nauseous. . However, on my chest I have these large brown spots that appeared a couple years ago- they started as very light, but have darkened and spread. They are now very dark and have spread so that there are smaller ones going all the way down to my belly button. They look exactly like dark, large liver spots. What could this be? I know I should "ask a doctor" but I don't have another physical for a long time and didn't think of it at my last one. Thanks.

Sounds like you have basal cell carcinoma, which is a form of skin cancer, but it is not consider Malignant like Melanoma. You should definitely have it examined by a dermatologist to confirm. Generally they can be left alone or be surgically removed depending if they bother you or start bleeding.
