Fingernail falling off, will it grow back?

Will my fingernail grow back? How long will it take?

• Ok so idk how this happened but the very top of my fingernail is cut off it's been 4 months and it IS GROWING BACK. Alright look at your thumb right now. do you see how there is a semicircle that is a different color under your nail go halfway up the the tip that's where it is. It's growing back and there was no blood when it happened. it just seems to be the top layer (nothing else) chipped off. No i will not go to a doctor, since it's growing back. I've been reading other stuff like this but mine is growing back. It's not gonna take off the whole thing and it seems to return to the normal color of the fingernail when the parts do heal. how long will it take and would it just randomly stop or will it keep growing. I have not picked at it either.

  Nail growth fully takes 2 months to grow back all the way and an additional month after that for color to fully return
