How long will it take my toenail to regrow?

How long will it take for my toenail to grow back? And should I cut the remaining portion off?

  • Well, I accidentally stubbed by toe against a staircase or a door.. and a while later it began to bleed under the nail and it was visibly black under my toenail because of the dried blood. I was annoyed at the colour so I decided to cut my toenail extremely deep so that I could remove the blood from underneath. Now my toenail is cut deep in the center and still has a remaining portion to the left and the right of center. So it is like a U shape of remaining toenail. Should I cut the remaining toenail off? Or does the remaining toenail grow? And how long would it take?

  • Answer:

It should take at least a month or so to have it fully grown. You should cut the remaining portion so that I would not hinder the growing process of the new nail/
