I had a severe panic attack at my job today, now boss says I shouldn't be working but I NEED THAT JOB!! 10 pts?

I have panic attacks that cause my heart to just suddenly start beating extremely fast out of nowhere. It only happens every so often, and it has been less frequent since I began taking medicine (Paroxetine). Despite having this condition, I went to college and in May 2008 I got a Bachelor of Science degree in communications with concentration in print journalism. But after that I could not get ANY job AT ALL, I mean no matter WHERE I tried even McDonalds would not give it to me because I guess they thought I was "overqualified." Anyhow I kept on trying to get a job, and finally in August of 2010 I got a job as a clerk at the thrift store. I knew the job involved heavy lifting and I knew about my panic attacks, but I was taking my medicine and the panic attacks rarely occured so I figured it was okay, and I told the boss this. NOTE THAT BEFORE I GOT THE JOB I KEPT TRYING TO GET SOCIAL SECURITY DUE TO MY CONDITION BUT THEY KEPT DENYING ME, AND I FIGURED THAT MUST MEAN I AM REALLY CAPABLE OF WORKING AND THEREFORE I THOUGHT I SHOULD JUST TRY TO GET A JOB INSTEAD OF JUST BEING LAZY AND TRYING TO "PRETEND I HAVE A CONDITION" (SINCE APPARENTLY THEY DIDN'T THINK THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH ME), ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE. Today I was working at the thrift store and I had a severe panic attack while bending over to pick something up. I went to the hospital, where I finally got a positive diagnosos of. But before I went to the hospital, the boss said I should not be working if I have panic attacks. I think that maybe it might be on her when something like that happens, but the attacks RARELY EVER occur, in fact this is the first time I have had one like that since I started working there in August. Plus I NEED THE JOB BECAUSE I CANNOT GET ANY OTHER JOB ANYWHERE!!! I HAVE BEEN TRYING EVERYWHERE!!! So anyhow, the boss might not want/let me work there anymore because of what happened today, because it might be on her if something like that happens. Also I live in a mobile home with my dad, and my dad keeps saying I should really just leave the job and try to get social security again (I guess he thinks they might really give it to me now that it has been confirmed by the hospital that I have a problem). My question is what should I do? Because I REALLY DO want to stay at that job!!! I just LOVE having a job and the excitement of getting to see the schedule every week and the people who work there and everything!!! But I don't know if the boss would (be allowed to) let me stay at the job, or how she would even react if I actually asked after what happened today. And if I don't/can't stay there, then I will be out of a job and out of money!!! I was up to almost $3,000 after saving almost everything since I started the job, and I just wanted to keep saving and shove it in the face of all those who claim they never have money or can't save despite having a job. So should I even inquire about keeping the job, or should I just tell them I'm going to let it go? I just don't want to let it go because I NEED A JOB AND I NEED MONEY AND IT WAS SO HARD FOR ME TO GET THIS JOB AND I REALLY WANT TO KKEP THE JOB!!! WHAT CAN I DO???

Answer:
Hiya, okay, let's take this one step at a time (like you should try in general). You by the way are awesome okay...............you have achieved something which many could not, so I congratulate you for this. Your panic attacks are most likely caused by the fact that not only do you come from a home which may cause social issues in today's society (whether or not you knew this, but you might now), but they will also be caused by the build up of stress that your now completed studies and attempted gain at a better life have brought you. If you need to move out, then move out ! If you need to bring home the so called "bacon" (money) then do so, but after what you have described, I would say to you that you need to get as far away from your current situation as possible. YOU have earned your qualification, and YOU deserve all the rewards for gaining such a prestigious award ! I appreciate that the work you have obtained is paying well enough, but please give YOURSELF some credit at least for what you have achieved (even if no one else is). YOU are a STAR amongst many dim lights okay, and do not forget that, it's you that has worked for what you know (studied). We are all in difficult times at the moment, but never doubt yourself when someone like yourself has made the effort to improve themselves.............i applaud you :-) If the worst comes to the worst (and I hope it does not, as in, move away and get the life you deserve) then see your doctor. I really do wish you the best as I have experienced a very similar situation, and it has changed, but only because I made it change. (as you can too)
