Are solotica coloured contact lenses comfortable?

Advice and info needed on wearing coloured contact lenses?

  • Hi I have hazely green eyes. They are hazel but they change colour to a more greenier colour if its really sunny and Ive been in the sun all day. But they are still not a really vibrant potent green. What Id like to know is how I can go about getting some coloured contact lenses. Id only want to wear them on certain occasions like parties etc Not all the time. I am currently on benefits (JSA) and apparantly I would need an eye test (through the opticians) before they will give me contact lenses. Has anyone gone through the same thing about getting coloured contact lenses and can you help me in regards to how much I should expect to pay etc etc? Also can you recommend a good opticians to use or a website I can go to that will help? Thanks!

    i wouldn't reccomend getting coloured contacts until you've worn normal contacts to see if your eyes work with contacts. coloured contacts are also a bit more expensive than normal ones. i've had coloured ones but i wore normal ones a bout 3 months before the coloured ones and i didn't have a problem. i got mine at americas best for about 35 dollars a box. and i also got my exam there. http://www.twopair.com/contacts/ they have certain membership plans you can join where i believe you can get free exams and discounts on contacts and glasses.

they are probably around 60-130 for a pair. you have to get your eyes tested because if the contact isnt the right shape it could damage your eyes. i have blue- green eyes and ive had green contacts and blue contacts. the good thing about having colored eyes to begin with is the colored contacts stll look natural and people wont really know why you 'look' different. as opposed to someone who has brown eyes to begin with wearing them they look gross and fake like doll eyes. after you get your eyes tested, you can go to a website like 1800contacts.com and choose your eye shape and prescription and thats it.

You would have to get an eye exam and then your doctor would probably give you a trial pair of colored contacts. They cost $60-90 a pair depending on how bad your eyesight is and that is for a monthly pair. If the pair that your optrician gave to you works out then you are good to go, and just buy a box with 4 pairs,which would last you for a good number of parties.
