What to wear to a broadway show: Dress up or casual?

Normally the show includes dinner too. Wear what's appropriate for the restaurant you will be going to. The plain black dress and tights will be fine in any case. You will see people dressed to the nines and people in street wear. Most split the difference with office wear.

You shouldnt wear your casual clothes. Wear a black dress and also dark fancy shoes. Do not wear something with words on the clothes. You can also wear your Sunday's best. If your parents let you wear make up, put on a little blue or pink eye shadow.

casual! you want to be comfortable because most brodway shows are long so you dont wanna worry about your feet hurting or your dress going up. a nice shirt and jeans with a pair of uggs or sneakers would be perfect.

I have been to many plays and recently attended a Broadway play the dress and tights will be perfectly fine. You are right it is absolutely not a black tie affair. A nice dress or even very nice jeans and a blouse would be perfect.
