Can I wear a yellow polo under a black sweater vest?

Hey guys. I'm a high school student... and I dress very "preppy" (I wear nothing but polos, khakis, sweaters, ect) I have no problem pulling it off whatsoever, according to many of my friends. I do wear sweater vests over long sleeve button downs quite a bit... but since the weathers nicer I was wondering if it would be logical to wear a bold yellow Ralph Lauren polo over a solid black sweater vest... I plan to wear it with khaki shorts. I don't normally ask for fashion advice but I've never worn a sweater vest over a polo before so I'm wondering what you guys think. Thanks! -Joe

As a girl, I say that you wear the polo by itself. It is already a nice shirt so the sweater vest is not needed and may end up looking tacky.
