How do I know if a site is safe?

Help! I want to order these sandals but how do I know if it is safe to order from site?

  • This chinese store has cute clogs I'm looking to buy it's an online store BUT how do I know they won't steal my information? they ask for my age--to consent I'm of age I'd assume.. I just don't feel safe doing it unless I know it is a safe website how to find out? ANY way to purchase on line without giving my credit card information?     if in the address bar it says https:// then you are safe.. the S on the end of the * http * means that it is a secure website. most online shopping stores have the s... some may not have it and may still be safe, but it is risky if it does not say * https:// *
