Where to get fairy costume for a teen?

I want to make my own Alice in wonderland costume, any ideas of where I can get the things I need?

  It wouldn't be too hard to make an Alice costume. She wore a dress with a full skirt and a white pinafore over it. You could get a plain dress that would work and a white dress to make into a pinafore or apron like garment with a bib and straps to put over it. Goodwill or a thrift store would have these things for not much money. Then add white footed leggings or hose and black flats and you'd only need to pull back your hair on the sides with small bows or a headband and you'd have the look.
