Why am I so tired all the time?

Are there any medical reasons why I'm tired all the time?

  • I am tired ALL THE TIME. In fact, I'm never not tired. I was just wondering if there's something wrong with me medically that could be causing this. I have depression but I'm on antidepressants, but could I be tired from that? Either from the antidepressants (prozac) or because I'm clinically depressed and my tiredness just isn't being treated by the prozac?

  • Answer:

It could be the medication or your depression in general. Ask your psychiatrist about it, maybe he can switch you to a medication that will work better for you. As far as physically, you may want to get checked for anemia. Fatigue is a common symptom for anemics.

I used to have severe depression. I remember being so fatigued it took effort to hold a hairbrush up to my hair. 25 years down the line I have something called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which means I am fatigued all the time, but in a different way. I really hope your diagnosis is not CFS, but it is better to be diagnosed with CFS sooner than later.
