Can children get 'Burning Foot Syndrome'?
-
My 7 year old son has been complaining of 'stinging' on the soles of his feet for the past 2 days. I've had a look online, and come across a condition called 'Burning Foot Syndrome' or Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome, which has similar symptoms. Can anyone tell me if it's possible for children to have this condition, and - if so - how serious is it? Any info/advice much appreciated!

Answer:
I never heard of this so looked it up. I find this: A sensation of burning of the sole of the foot. Occurs in certain vitamin deficiencies and in patients with chronic renal failure, due to build-up of toxic waste products. I suppose vitamin deficiencies might be it but as a mother I would be more inclined to think he is been out somewhere in his bare feet and that is what caused this burning.
