Can a head injury cause nose bleeds?
-
My son hit his temple about a week ago. Later that day he had a nose bleed and in the middle of the night..We didn't think much about it until yesterday. We know that he has had a total of 6 bleeds since he has hit his head a week ago. He may have had more but he hasn't been keeping up.I know of 6 that I have seen. He is on antihistamine and a cholesterol med for severe itching and high liver enzymes. He's never had this many nose bleeds. He just turned 18 so I thought all this stuff strange for someone so young.

Answer:
it would be rare for an injury of this type to cause recurrent nose bleeds. I would guess that it is more related to the antihistamine drying out his nose. try a saline spray and see if that doesn't help.
