What is the clinical difference between a disease and a sickness?

Could somebody please help me explain the difference between sickness/healing and disease/treatment?

  • Answer:

healing refers to the return of health. no person can do this, only the body can. the best any doctor can do is to try to help create the circumstances that will permit the body to do what it naturally will try to do, restore itself to health. the term treatment generally refers to the application of some therapy to try to minimize or suppress the symptoms of disease. it is not synonymous with healing, nor in most cases does it lead to restoration of health.
