What is the best remedy for gout?

  • My two feet and both knees are with inflammations, I can not walk. Sorri my english.

  • Answer:

See a doctor. They will likely give you a cortisteroid like prednisone to help stop this acute attack. Then the long term goal should be to get your uric acid level under control. Allopurinol (Zyloprim) works great for most people. Colchicine and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) like ibuprofen and naproxen are helpful for minor gout attacks. Drinking lots of water helps. Avoid alcohol and red meat. I had gout in my feet and knees six months ago and could not walk. I am now on allopurinol and have no problems. I test my uric acid frequently and I walk 5 miles per day. Good Luck.
