Why is my left eye very itchy near the tear duct?

Itchy, slightly red under eye--near tear duct, slightly swollen eye HELP!!?

• Hi :) okay so 4 days ago, i put some eyeliner on my eyes (lower lash line), when i went to take it off i think too much of it went into my left eye and it started hurting a teeny bit, but only my left eye, my right one is fine, same eyeliner and everything. so i go to bed that night and i can kind of tell it was going to be swollen when i woke up, and yep, it was not a lot but pretty noticeable, i put iced cucumbers and green tea on it and it reduced the swelling. also, my tear duct and the outer most part of my eye started to hurt. now four days later the swelling is basically down, usually when i wake up its a little puffy but now the skin under my eye is a reddish pinky colour (kinda looks bruised) and my tear duct REALLY hurts, im thinking it now got infected :S for the past 2 nights ive been putting a Q-tip in saltwater and dropping some in my eye--it kinda stings but i figure it will disinfect. so i was wondering, what should i do to help it, do you think its serious i mean, i wasnt very worried, but its been four days and nothings really healed it still hurts, its just not so swollen but now my under eye near the tear duct looks bruised and hurts HELP!! • Answer:

  Get a warm damp washcloth and place it over your eye for about 15 minutes a few times a day. Stop using any eye makeup for the time being. It it more of a red lump on the eye lid where the tear duct it? It could possibly be a Sty. Which the warm damp cloth would help pull out the oils and whatnot from the eye makeup.
