Why do I have GERD? and how to cure GERD (acid reflux disease naturally) ?

  • I am 21 years old turning 22 this year, I discovered recently that what i have was known to be GERD an acid reflux disease :/ and its killing me I cannot stay for one second unless I burp constantly to clear my throat, I have trouble swallowing in cold weather so as breathing if its summer its easy for me to breathe and eat but still I burp constantly which is annoying me. I have bad breathe :/ and dry mouth i drink many water it doesn't help that much i do not eat much :/ I wish i can eat and swallow like a normal humen :((( am still young and i have these symptons its just annoying me. the only time i can eat normally and swallow is when I wake up and o always feel full due to my constant burping :/ however I did not eat much i drink a lot of juices but I dont feel hungry anymore am scared of dying. I do not even do exercise I used to. I think one of the main reason I have this is becuase when i was 17 I vomitted the acid out many times and was not eating properly because I was loosing weight but I hurted my stomach by staying days not eating and stuff and I have a sweet tooth so i will attack chocolates and over eat it now i cant even eat chocolates i lost that and when i eat cakes I burp so constantly it JUTS FREAKING ANNOYS ME then my tummy hurts. so please tell me how to cure thiis stupid thing NORMALLY! oh and i bkame it on the period cuz everytime i used to get periods I vommit the acid out -.- thanks natalie

GERD happens for a lot of reasons, but basically your esophagus is weak so it allows for the food to move up into the chest/throat area. There are numerous natural ways to help curb the symptoms. Aloe vera juice, apple cider vinegar and red cabbage juice are the ones I can think of the top of my head. The more you learn about it, the easier it will be to control the symptoms. Try to eat acid reflux friendly meals, eat smaller meals, keep your upper body elevated while sleeping and stay off caffeine, sugar, white flour, spicy and fried food.

First, you need to go and see your doctor who may recommend medication to control the amount of acid your stomach produces - if it is GERD. I suffer from intermittent bouts of GERD and no longer eat large amounts of chocolate (especially dark), imbibe alcohol and coffee sparingly (bummer) and have eased up on fried and spicy foods. I don't eat within two hours of going to bed and, I sleep on an elevated pillow which helps prevent the acid from backing up to my throat. Go and see the doc before you try self help.

My mother suffered severe GERD and LPR for 5 years and gastritis for 25 years. After stopping ALL acid blocking medications and antacids and taking digestive enzyme supplements to help digest foods and betaine HCL with pepsin supplements to INCREASE stomach acid, GERD and LPR were gone in a few weeks and 95% improvement in gastritis in roughly a year.
