Is my cartilage piercing infected?

Is my cartilage ear piercing infected?

  • I got my cartilage pierced saturday afternoon at a professional tattoo parlor with two of my other friends. I've had many of my friends go to this same place for several piercings and they were all fine. The first two days, my cartilage was fine and there was only a regular amount of soreness. The third morning, however, my piercing seemed a little more agitated and was slightly swollen. Today is the fifth day and my ear is really swollen, red, and warm. There is no blood or pus coming out of the piercing hole. There is actually no crust or anything either. My earring is really tight though because of how much my ear swelled up. Is my ear piercing infected? What should I do?

  • Answer:

Give it a few more days. All my piercings took 7 to 10 days to calm down. If it begins to be painful to the touch and stays hot and red then take it out. If you can i found loosening the earring backing soothed my ear. A few of mine did reject so just keep.an eye on it. Spray it with some H2ocean spray and dont sleep on that side. See what happens

Leave it In a few more days. Go to the piercing pagoda (which is probably where you should've gone to get it pierced) and buy eating cleaner. Clean it and twist it daily. If the swelling doesn't go down, either take it out, let it close up, and try again in a few weeks or go on the piercing pagodas website and buy a long earing. They make them so that when your war swells the short earring size doesnt irritate it more.
