How much does a Botox treatment cost?

Has anyone heard of the Botox treatment for gastroparesis?

• I have gastroparesis and I've heard of this thing that they use Botox to inject into the lower part of people's stomachs to bring them relief. My old teacher does medicine and she said to never, EVER let them put Botox into my system, no matter what the cost, just never do it. But I've heard that it really, really helps. Has anyone heard of this treatment and its side effects or if its cons override its pros? Thanks for your help, I really need to know this stuff cause I'm going to Cincinnati for their pediatric GI doctors soon and want to know stuff before I get there.

  My daughter has done this several times - first time when she was 18. It was very effective the first time only and each time after that it was only marginally helpful. It took a few days for her to get the benefit as there is initial inflammation from the procedure so you might get worse before you get better. If you are pretty bad it would be worth trying in my opinion. It lasted about 3 months each time. I think she has done it maybe 6 times in total. I don't know why your teacher would be against it.
