What should I do to stop excessive sweating?

How can I stop this excessive sweating without surgery?

  • I've dealt with excessive sweating in my underarms since I was around 14, I am 26 now. Over the years I have tried pretty much every kind of deodorant and eventually ended up using Drysol (a prescription alcohol based deodorant). Drysol can be quite painful, but over the years it has become less and less effective. I am so tired of being stressed about my underarm sweating, I have to pick clothes out so that it's easy to disguise. I have had so many ruined clothes over the years and I am downright DONE with dealing with this problem. I have a Dermatologist appointment on Thursday. In the past, I was told the only other option was to use botox or surgery to remove the glands to stop the sweating under my arms. Does anyone know of any other fix? I would like to have some information before I go to the appointment. Surgery will be my last alternative. Thanks! Candace

I feel your pain. Have you tried Mon Ray Antiperspirant? This product is as strong as Drysol, but it does not contain Alcohol, so I did not have the problems like I did with Drysol. I have been using Mon Ray for one year and it really works well. I even use it on my hands and works perfectly. I even tried the Botox, but it only worked for about 3 months and then had to go back in for another treatment and it got very expensive. The Derms want you to use Botox because that is where they make their money, if you know what I mean. Before surgery, look Mon Ray up on the internet. Trust me I have tried everything, but this product really helped me.

There are also conventional oral medications for controlling sweating, but again unpleasant side effects may occur and they should be used only for extreme cases. These work by drying bodily secretions, and tend to come with unwanted side-effects such as dry mouth, blurry vision, dizziness and cardiovascular concerns. As a last resort, there are surgical procedures to control perspiration, but they are usually reserved for cases resistant to all other form of treatment. Natural Remedies Many people are now turning to natural remedies as a first step towards treating excessive sweating caused by overactive sweat glands. There are a number of natural ingredients that can help reduce sweating and treat some of the underlying causes. Nat mur. helps to reduce excessive sweating and clamminess. Lupulus as well as Castoreum and Argentum Nitricum help to address sweating, especially when related to nervousness, panic, anxiety, or obsessive thoughts. Lastly the ingredient Syphilinum helps to control fluid levels in the body, while also helping to control body odor which commonly accompanies excessive sweating. I am 16 and have the same exact problem! I was told that it was due to hormones, but it gets pretty annoying. I have also heard that botox would work, but I have not yet tried it.

There is medication you can take which I believe blocks nerves to sweat glands. Also electrical stimulation. Do some research into homeopathy and check your diet. Try and find the trigger for your sweating - the underlying reason. Edit - I just googled and you can also buy pads which go under your arms.
