Could acid reflux make me throw up?

I'm 14, could acid reflux symptoms be caused by hormonal imbalance or something?

  • Sometimes I feel really sick and other times I feel fine. My doctor diagnosed it as acid reflux about a year ago, but it randomly got bad so she made me have an endoscopy. They said everything looked fine, like I didn't even have reflux :/ they said I was lactose intolerant though, and I eat a lot of dairy, but today I've had no dairy and i feel like I could throw up and have a burning like the acid reflux, my my doctor said I didnt even need it. I notice it comes up terrible a few weeks before and after my period, so I was wondering if it could be hormonal or something? I'm going to see the gyno in a day, even though I'm 14 will she make me take birth control, cuz all those commercials on tv scare me cuz they say they can cause blood clots and stuff. What could be the cause? Could it be hormonal because I do have a very weird cycle (48 days, next period is 35, that cycle continues)

  • Answer:

No hormones do not cause reflux. Although everything "looks fine" doesn't mean you don't have reflux. Even a baby can have reflux. I know a little girl at nine years old had surgery for reflux her's was so bad. Do talk to the gyno about it though. As she could have some suggestions about it. And I think it important that your GP know about your continued symptoms.
