Can you give me ideas on what I might have? (stomach/bowel problem)?

Hello, I seriously need some advice about this. I've seen a total of 3 different doctors. (school / family / and new) Several months back I had discomfort feelings on my left abdomen area. I went to my school and family doctor. School doctor took an xray and saw stool there so she said I was CONSTIPATED. So I was prescribed stool softener. I had air in my stomach at that time but it didn't bother me. My family doctor said I might have irritable bowel syndrome so he prescribed antibiotics for that, which only made me more constipated. Didn't help at all. Later on, the gas in my stomach got worse, happening every other night. It also acted on the types of foods that I ate. Then, I started to have burning/itchy sensations after bowel movements on my bottom. I thought the bowel movement problem was just a temporary thing but it never went away. I bought some hemorroid pads for wiping to ease the burning/itchy feeling but it never really "cured" the problem. So I went to a NEW doctor and told him about my stomach/intestinal gas problem and bowel movement and he told me to take MAALOX (gas reliever). It really helped with the gas however, it didn't solve the bowel movement burning/itchy problem. Maalox made me more constipated which wasn't good for the burning feeling. For those who might not think the gas is a problem, its very ABNORMAL. It would build up and keep building up. If I release by farting it'll build up like within the next 5 minutes and I just keep farting or burping. As for the bowel problem, it burns/itches every time... I just came back from the doctors regarding blood work (dunno why he needed to see my blood information) and I told him about the stomach/bowel problems and he said it was normal. "Just do some exercise and eat vegetables" It's really pissing me off that the doctors aren't taking this seriously. I've never had these problems before not until months ago. I'm thinking it's a possible ulcer but I'm not an expert so I wouldn't know. Another thing, not to gross you guys out, but it seems as though my stool creates a burning feeling on my anus. Once I wipe it away it stops burning. Let me know what you guys think, i REALLY need help on this. I'm tired of seeing ridiculous doctors who just want my insurance money every time visit them.

I don't see how an ulcer can cause constipation or gas. As someone who has some digestive issues I can stand behind yogurt. Personally Activia has done a fairly good job with some of the same issues you have though other off brand Yogurts can work to a degree. The stool burning is probably because it is hard or you are defecating alot. Exercise will help you move your bowels and the vegetables have fiber which will help make you regular. Come people are just gassy natured, but this can be due to the foods you eat and more importantly the kind of bacteria you have in your gut. My advice: Change your diet to include fresh fruits and veggies with some yogurt. Exercise more even if it is just fast walking. Try a stool softener to help the constipation. You may have IBS, but there isn't a lot the doctors are going to do for mild cases. IBS traditionally causes more diarrhea than constipation. You may have also developed an allergy to some sort of food, but constipation isn't generally the only sign of this....

You may want to check into food allergies or the possibility of IBS. Antibiotics only help IBS if the problem is an overgrowth of bacteria. Not to get too personal, but if your stool is soft and (more) unpleasant smelling than normal, you may benefit from probiotic treatments. You can order strong probiotics from different online vitamin stores. The more expensive ones that need to be refrigerated are stronger. This will work if you have a food sensitivity that is causing an overgrowth of fungus, usually exacerbated by a food sensitivity. You should seek the help of a gastroenterologist. He will know which tests to run. If it were an ulcer, you would likely be experiencing some sort of very noticeable abdominal pain. It is right where the stomach is. I speak from experience on this one.
You should see a gastroenterologist for your internal bowel problems. He/she may be able to help you with the rectal area problems (pain/itching) as well; or refer you to a general surgeon. The pain/itching could be caused from a rectal fissure. The anal sphincter can be too tight and during episodes of constipation, or even severe diahhrea, it causes a fissure or "crack" in the area around the sphincter. A simple procedure called a sphincterotomy is a small surgical incision into that sphincter to ease some of the tension; thus alleviating the burning/itching pain, and possible more tearing of that tissue. Hope you feel better soon. Don't stop seeking help until you get satisfaction!
Stop eating wheat, sugar and dairy products and you will see some improvement. So, no bread, candy, cookies, egg, milk, beer, oats, barley, rye, etc. Read labels. You can eat all veges, fruits, beans, meat, rice. Make a big pot of vege soup. Add cabbage, potatoes, carrots, celery, broccoli, onions, some garlic, salt, pepper maybe a little chicken bouillon and eat this for a few days. You will feel better. I was eating tums by the mouthful and even using that Alli because it made me poop better. They are right to tell you to eat more veges and exercise, but you need a total diet over haul. I have been on this diet for 9 days and I have not had any bowel problems, stomach aches, acid refluxx or indigestion. I have been having a BM everyday. I have even lost 4lbs. I have been to doctor after doctor for acid relux, indigestion, constipation and horrible stomach aches. No one suggested omitting these foods from my diet. My friend said try it for a week, what have you got to lose, so I did and I do see a big improvement.
