Could the muscle twitching I'm experiencing be related to a spinal fusion I had over 2 years ago?
-
My C6 and C7 were herniated. I had horrible pain in my right hand and the triceps in my right arm started weakening. They ended up doing a fusion for C6. They left C7. They did a ton of test afterwards because the pain continued for a long time after the surgery and determined everything was done fine. I still have many of the same pains, and that side is still weak, but I live with it. This was over 2 years ago. Over the last 2 months, I have been having muscle twitching in many of the muscles in my body, but the twitching in the triceps area is non-stop, 24/7. Muscle relaxer didn't seem to help at all and I have some other ideas of why this could be happening, (my blood work never comes back normal. I could have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, various vitamin deficiencies, etc., but the blood work is never the same so we are playing the waiting game. I've been diagnosed with Lyme Disease) but I was wondering if it is more likely or even possible that this is related to that disc again. I'd go back and ask the neurosurgeon, but he never took my insurance to begin with.

Answer:
Depending on the timing, it's possible that Lyme disease contributed to your herniated disks in the first place. And Lyme can contribute to throwing your blood levels of LOTS of things off-kilter. Recommend you find a Lyme specialist affiliated with ILADS.
