What will happen if lymphocytes are absent in w.b.c?

WBC & Lymphocytes. Can someone please translate what these bumbers can mean?

  • I just received my blood test results and all was in normal range, with the exeption of my WBC which was a little high at 11.1, as well as my lymphocyte count at 5,329. What can be assumed by these numbers? What does this mean?

  • Answer:

Elevation of the White Blood Cells indicates that somewhere in your body, there is an infection and you are trying to fight it. When you get sick, your body triggers an immune response, and the WBCs are your body's "infection fighters" so to speak. Lymphocytes are a type of WBC and an elevation may indicate an infection that is viral in nature.
