I have a swollen eye from allergies.

My right eye lid is continuously swollen. It has been like that for a year now. I don't think it is allergies?

  • I just woke up one morning and both my eyes were swollen. My left one went down after a couple of days but my right one is still swollen. I wear contacts I don't know if that has any effect on your upper eye lids or not. My eye lid is not majorly blown up but it is still enough that I can tell the difference in pictures between my left and right eye lids.

See a doctor. Or have you already?

Other answers

Either this is irritation from your contacts or you may have a chalazion which is a fatty deposit under the eyelid. When your contacts are out you could try putting a hot (not scalding) clean washcloth against the eye for a few minutes, several times a day for a few days. If that doesn't work you should see an eye doctor. A skilled and qualified eye doctor can remove it surgically. I have had two of these removed, and now I use a hot washcloth every morning as a preventive measure. Good luck!
