Who has had "burning foot syndrome?

Is compartment syndrome bad?

  • im a junior in hs now..and back in like mid of 7th grade i broke my ankle. and obviously had a cast put on it. And for the past few years ever since first off..my calf on the left leg ( the leg i broke ) is bigger. and when i run it hurts. And sometimes just randomly it'll tighten up and i get like a burning sensation. It just like feels really heavy and stuff. does this sound like compartment syndrome? I have to go to the foot doctor who treated me but yeahh..

  • Answer:

This is not compartment syndrome. Compartment syndrome would cause your leg to feel rock hard due to the increased pressure. You would also lose sensation and movement in your leg and it would become ischemic. You should see a doctor to see if the fracture is completely healed and possibly for a physical therapy referral.

Compartment syndrome comes on fast and if not treated right away causes tissue death. It cannot be this from an injury that is years old. Go to see your doctor, he should be able to help you.

could be lymphatic drainage, compartment syndrome is an emergency and is more related to the muscles. ask your doc when you see him.
