Do I have a sleeping disorder?

Do i have insomnia or any other sleeping disorder?

  • I used to have it pretty bad, when i was 11 i would stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning having to force myself to fall asleep. Now i am 13 and wondering if i still have insomnia or any other sleeping problem. It takes me up to an hour or two to fall asleep unless i am really really exhausted. I have to do things like tidy my room for ages before i can feel sleepy. I am wondering if i still have it? Or any other sleeping disorder? Rude Or/and annoying comments will be reported. I want to add some things. I am irritable. i feel sleepy during the day. I find it really hard to concentrate. (When people talk i stare off into the distance and it feels kind of like i am half asleep) I am going to keep a sleep diary to keep track on my sleep and then show it to my parents after a while of doing it to see what they think. Thanks alot! I have asked this before but didnt get much feedback. :)

  • Answer:

Exercise more to become more tired. Melatonin can help you feel sleepy and fall asleep, but you should not make yourself dependant on other things in order to get the sleep you need. See if a teacher will discuss this with you. Teachers are more stressed than police officers, and if anyone can talk about tension a teacher can. There are self hypnosis recordings to help people normalize their sleep patterns. Mabe your local library has them you can borrow. Check your environment for irritations such as noise or pollution.
