What is endogenous disease?

Persons familiar with family disease, do they care to learn about disease? And to what extent?

• I'm trying to see if family members of those who have diseases (such as hypertension or sickle cell disease) are motivated to learn about such diseases? And if they are motivated, how much are they motivated? What do they do about it? Everything I find online already assumes that you as the family member care, and provide how-to's on what to do. But that's NOT what I am looking for. I am just trying to understand if knowing that someone you're close with affects your ability to learn about the disease(s). If anyone has any journal articles in response to this very specific question, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
