What is glaucoma?

Top percentage for Glaucoma? What does that mean?

  • My optometrist said I was at the high end or top percentage for Glaucoma. I didn't want to sound stupid, so I didn't ask her what that meant, but what DOES it mean? Does that mean I might get it? How do I prevent it? What are the signs? I'm really worried, I know a woman that had it and she's blind now. I am near sighted in both eyes now, and I have an astigmatism. I've had my glasses for a year and she said that my eyes have gotten worse. I don't want to lose my eyesight.. should I be worried?

  • Answer:

most likely you are not in immediate danger of glaucoma. and usually it strikes people much older. it is like a film that covers your eyes and you get it surgically removed. you should never be afraid to ask any doctor you go to for answers. if they are spitting things out you do not understand then that is their problem they should learn to be more patient friendly. go back to your eye doc and have explain till you understand. and that goes for any other doctors you may have in the future. seriously
