Cysts on the Brain of my Three Month Old?

  • Cysts on the Brain of my Three Month Old? I just had twin baby girls and not to long ago they both had a check up, I had noticed my one little girl had a fairly large bump on her head, I let it slide for a week but had noticed it had gotten bigger then what it was. When I got to the doctors I had a scan done on both the little girls and just today I had found out my one girl had a cyst on the brain. They didn't tell me much about it, but demanded we do more tests and get things figured out but I would really love if someone could help me and answer a few questions.. Is it common for a young baby to have a cyst on the brain? What exactly is a cyst? Can harm be done towards my baby? If my one daughter has a cyst is it genetic for my other daughter to get one? What are the symptoms of having a cyst on the brain, and if there is any how come I didn't notice it in my baby? Thank you so so much for your time!

  • Answer:

Our son had one on his brain. He started having "ticks." Snapping his head back. Blinking real hard. Always having to pee, or the urge to. This was when he was 5 years-old. The cyst was very large, on top of his head. Pressing against his brain. Luckily we live near Vanderbilt children hospital. He had surgory to get it removed. They were fantastic. I highly reccomend that hospital. Get with your Dr. So they can refer you to a specialtist. You don't want to let this go. I know it can be very scary dealing with something like this. But with the advanced technology that they have nowadays, you'll be amazed.
