Why do I have bad breath?

Why does my breath still smell bad?

  • So ive been searching online about bad breath. I don't have thrush, no gum disease, nor any infection on teeth or anything like that... I brush my teeth every single day and my tongue also. Ive always had white coated tongue. But its been like about a month my breath started to smell, ... I used to brush my teeth with Colgate tooth paste with the blue, dark blue, and white colors, Yet my mouth still smelled bad.. then i got a different Colgate, and it smelled less tho ... I still dont know whats the cause of bad breath?!? e.e' Any help?

Few possibilities -My bf used to have terrible, odd, strong bad breath. He brushes his teeth twice a day religiously, and his dentist is always astounded at how well his teeth are. His breath got a TON better when he switched toothpastes; he used to use a mouthwash/toothpaste in one. There might be a specific ingredient in both brands of toothpaste you bought that just doesn't work well for you, and there's less of it in the better one. Keep trying dif ones. For my bf, his beath didn't smell like regular bad breath though, was dif than any I'd ever smelled before. -change your toothbrush more often -the odor might be coming from beyond your mouth, like your stomach. For instance, people with ulcers are supposed to have really bad breath. If you have a tendency for stomach pain of any type, mild or worse, I'd tell your doc about it along with your bad breath. If you have post-nasal drip (basically a constant, kinda stuffed-up nose, or frequent sore throat), that can cause bad breath too, and would require cleaning off your nose/throa/tonsils. Try something like gargling with salt water and using a nasal spray. -Do others tell you your breath is bad, or do you notice it yourself? If you're only noticing it yourself, I would think the source is not in your mouth at all, but rather your nose. If you have something stuck up your nose from when you were an infant or something, or an infection of some sort back there, you could be smelling that all the time.

my husband had the same problem and he went to the doctors and it was actually his tonsils causing the bad breathe so you might want to go to the doctor and have them check that out

Buy a tongue scraper the source of your bad breath is probably that. Also try mouth wash that should help quite a bit too. Flossing is a great idea for better oral hygiene too. These three additions to brushing should be enough to fix your problem but if it persists I would see a doctor.

how many times do you brush your teeth every day???bad breath is usually caused by bacteria, avoid sweets, brush your teeth at least 3 times a day and gargle with listerine twice a day

Mr Brown

Sometimes they say that if its not your mouth and your teeth are healthy then it may be your stomach or intestines. Something might be going on in your stomach. Get that checked.
