What type of trumpet should i get?

Can someone get type 2 herpes from someone who has type 1 genital?

  • My now ex-boyfriend had an outbreak of type 2 HSV - supposedly his first - after over a year of togetherness. I tested negative twice for type 2 in the weeks/months following his OB (blood tests). He told me I needed to get tested for type 1 because I could still have that. Even if I did, could he have gotten type 2 from that? Would I get type two if I had gone down on him when the virus was shedding, or would it be type 1? I'm really confused.

  • Answer:

Nope. Two different yet similar viruses. The virus won't change...but the location can. Meaning hsv2 can infect the mouth just like hsv1 can infect the genitals...but typically hsv1 is oral, hsv2 is genital....but that distinction seems to be changing.

No hun herpes doesn't work like that. The two types don't mutate or turn into each other. If they have HSV1 on the genitals then they would only get HSV1. Just so you know HSV1 is less sever on the genitals then HSV2 and it's rarely passed to the mouth during oral sex. It's even less likely to be passed when there are no signs of a break out. If you have ever had a cold sore then you would test positive for HSV1 any ways because cold sores are caused by oral herpes which is HSV1.
