Should HIV testing be required?

Possibility of getting hiv?

• I was very hungry last sunday.All other restaurants were closed at that time. I went to a nearby chinese fast food and had some food. the place was very dirty and i dont even know whether they wash the spoons and plates. I later came to know that the cook is a hiv+ from a known doctor near my house. Now am starting to shiver. My doubt is whether it is possible to get hiv from used forks and plates if they were not washed. I feel that he may have eaten something with the same fork and then he gave the same to me. Am having sleepless nights. kindly help me plss. is any testing required??

  There are only two ways to get HIV: Direct contact with blood or sex. So you CAN NEVER get HIV from anything you eat. HIV can also be inherited from your parents (so if one of your parents had HIV before you were born, you might have had HIV since birth). It is smart to get tested just to be 100% sure but its not really necessary. To answer your question, No. You did not get HIV from the Chinese food place. But you could currently have it from unprotected sex, your parents, or direct contact with an infected person's blood. I would recommend getting tested if you are still really unsure but from the info you gave me, you don't seem like someone who has been infected.
