I have a question about acne scars.

Multiple question...relating acne, scars, n more!?

  • ok i'm 18 years old and i've been a acne victim since i was 13. Now, it's BETTER! like i'd get ONE Major pimple once after a long time but i do get those veryyyy little pimples around the nose and the skin. But like when i wake up after using proactive, i get like dry white "things" around my nose( i'd say the skin is dry??) but my nose is actually very oily ??? like wht the heck is this?? I've been using proactive since i was 13. i don't really regularly use it, but i do?. however, the scars are not going away from previous acne ... it's not severe, but i'd want clearrrr skin?.. can anyone tell me whether i shud see dermatologist ? or some other things may be? leme know, plz! thnx

    dude, your skin is only going to be dry where you've applied your acne medication. Try drinking water and washing your face in the evening and when you wake up. The scars are not going away. Stop using proactive if it doesn't work and use the more conventional benzonyl peroxide

I have a great thing for you to go buy and try. It is called bi-oil and you can get it at the drugstore, like Walgreen's. My daughter had the same issue. I read that this was good and she tried it. It has helped with pimples and scars. I even use it on some dark areas on my skin. Try it, you may like it. Don't be fooled because it is oil, it comes from germany

You could see a dermatologist but i'm thinking your skin will clear up on its own (your still pretty young) as for the scars, it may take a few years before they start to disapear. If your self conscious about your skin use make-up. (I take it your a guy but who cares tons of guys use make-up) Buy a concealer that has lotion mixed with it so it looks more natural. good luck!

I used to get white flaky skin on the sides of my nose, for about two years. It really depended on if I was moisturizing, if my showers were too hot, and what the weather was like. I've started using SPECTRO (eczema cream) immediately after I get out of the shower. It is a non oil based lotion and it works wonders.. I no longer get the flaky white skin. As for the scars, those will fade over time, but they will always be there unless you get them surgically/lazically removed. Just remember that most people have had some sort of skin issue so we know what it feels like! As you get older pimples will become even less and less frequent.
