Can I use silverdine for a scar?

I got burn on both my hands from a car accident when the airbag deflated, what can I use for the scar?

  • I got in an accident two weeks ago and got burns on both my hands, seems like 1st or 2nd degree burn, and I have been using Neosporin since athe accident. The burn is drying up but looks like it is going to leave a bad scar. what can I use to get rid of the scar? Will it keloid? because I tend to get keloid on my chest area for any small thngs so am assuming am prone for keloids. please input any suggestion about what I can do to get rid of the scar. it is still pink... still in the process of healing I guess so I was told not to use Mederma untill it completely heals. thanks

  • Answer:

Regarding keloids, it depends on the degree burn that you have (first, second, third, or fourth) (though if you have fourth--or even third--you would be in the hospital). You need to keep the skin moist. You can find hydrocolliod dressing--they're left in place for three days and then changed every 5-7 days. You should apply an antibiotic lotion/cream--burns can get infected VERY easily. Either way, your skin will probably be pink for a while--up to a year, or even more. It should fade over time.
