How long does Pityriasis Rosea take to clear up?

Possibly Pityriasis Rosea, but only 2 large patches after almost 3 months?

  • I noticed a flat, non-itchy, pink/red patch on my right inner thigh about 3 months ago. It started out about the size of a dime, then a nickel. After about a month, another, slightly smaller one appeared about a half inch next to it. It was smaller than a dime when it appeared. It has now been around 3 months, and the first patch has grown to be about the size of a teaspoon head, the second is about the size of a nickel. I've had one itching bout with it ever, the rest of the time it doesn't itch or burn or anything. My body overall has been feeling very hot since this started however. I will be going to a doctor soon, but I just wanted to know, does this sound like Pityriasis Rosea? From other cases I've seen, it doesn't look like it, I have only two spots after 3 months, and they don't itch at all. It's not ringworm either, and I just can't find anything that's even close to it besides Rosea.

  • Answer:

I would wonder more about granuloma anulare. Ask about it.
