What is the best acne dark spot remover?

How do I get rid of my acne!?!?!?

  • So I'm a 13 almost 14 year old girl and as I know it is perfectly normal to have acne or spots of it. However I was wondering if there was anything I could do about it that didn't require me spending a ton of money. I mean I use Neutrogena's Deep Clean cleanser and at night I use Neutrogena's Acne Spot Remover. I take good care of my skin. But is there any home remedies I could do to have it clear up?? I'm starting school next week! D:

Acne can be caused by quite a lot of things. Usually the main culprit is excess oil and dirt in the skin. One way of preventing acne in this cause would be to make a routine of washing your face before you go to sleep every night. Use a facial cleansing scrub (you can buy them from pretty much any drug store) after you've had a bath or shower to get rid of dirt from your pores and a toner to cleanse the skin. If your skin feels too dry afterwards, you can always apply a little moisturiser (emphasis on the *little* - don't slaver it all over your face!). Another cause of acne is hormones, which seems to be the case with you. Unfortunately, this is a little more difficult to prevent, and can't always be stopped completely, but a few things to try would be to take vitamin supplements (only one or two a day, don't over-do it) and to drink a lot of water. This keeps your skin healthy. Eating less fatty foods (e.g. chocolate, sweets, junk food) during the time you usually get your period or times when you feel stressed will help too, as these foods are said to aggravate acne and sometimes cause breakouts. You should also continue to clean your face on a regular basis. And if all else fails, you could always try putting a little toothpaste on your spots. This hasn't been scientifically proven to work, but I've tried it on my own acne (when I used to get it) and it seems to reduce redness quite a bit. But you have to be careful, as some people with sensitive skin have been known to have reactions. If you want to try this method, you should do some Google research first.
