Will my sunburn turn into a tan?

  • I got very badly burned today, on my back, legs, chest, and stomach. I put on tanning lotion before I layed out and I've been applying aloe every few hours since the burn. Will my sunburn turn into a tan or just fade? How do I get it to tan?

    1. Tanned skin is dead skin 2. If you got a really bad sun burn you may just peel, revealing skin that will probably be more white than before :P 3. To get a tan, if you burn, it's important to STAY PROTECTED. anything less than spf 15 is waaay too low. Keep your skin safe, and spend a good amount of time outside(say at the pool) while it is safe and you'll get a tan. p.s. you really shouldn't be trying to get a tan, the damage it causes has a really high chance of leading to cancer. It's ok to tan if you're working outside, but never use tanning booths or anything.

a sunburn is what happens after your skin has already tanned....keep up with the aloe but also drink a TON of water to keep your skin hydrated and to help it heal and repair its self....you never want to burn though sweetie!!! thats how skin cancer is caused and how your skin later in life looks 10yrs older then you are. when the sunburn heals you should be tanner then what you were but it wont be really dark tan.

if its bad i doubt it will turn into a tan...it will probabbly just fade eventually....usually they only turn into tans if its a light sunburn
