I have oily skin, can anyone help me with it?
-
I have really oily skin and I hate it so much. I used to wear foundation for oily skin, creme foundation and powder but my face would still get oily and shiny and gross! But now I'm tan and I can't wear the make-up I have anymore so I just wear none on my face. My face still gets shiny and oily. I use Skin ID and I got the kind for oily skin I guess and it helps but not completely. I also use oily blotting sheets sometimes during the day but I'm embarrassed to use them because they get so disgusting! Is there a way I could stop my skin from getting so oily and shiny throughout the day?

Answer:
I don't think there is much else you can do. You are already doing all the right things. You may want to consider washing the skin during the day, since you are not wearing make up. Also, after doing so, a light dusting of a translucent powder in your shade may help with the shine for a little while. As for feeling shame about using oil blotting papers, just do it in private. Nobody needs to know about your personal maintenance. One more thing....don't use any product that contains alcohol. Alcohol will dry your skin out for a little while, but will actually stimulate the pores to create more oil later one. Hope this helps.

Why are you embarrassed to use the sheets? Just go into a bathroom stall and do it. You really don't need a mirror. You can tell by how much is coming off where the oil still is. You can by "mattifiers" to put on your skin, like an astringent, base, moisturizer, or mask. There are many different kinds in many different price ranges. I can't think of any that are normally available in stores anymore. There used to be a lot, but there aren't as many anymore. You can look around though because I know some still exist at drugstores and Walmart, etc. It's easiest to find the products online. I've never found one that's perfect, but they can help a lot. Also, putting on a face powder specifically designed to absorb oil helps. Other powders just let oil sit on top of them.
