My eyelids are swollen/drooping?

What's wrong with my eyelids?

  • My eyelids have been like this for a while , possibly for about 2 months .. on the inner corner it's not smooth. It's really rough. So I put straight Vitamin E on it , & it got better. Then I thought it would work better if I used Vaseline. So I put Vaseline on my eyelids one night & the next morning my eyes were EXTREMELY puffy , red , & itchy. It was very puffy to the point where i thought i had an allergic reaction to some food. So what should I do ? It's not my make up , i haven't gotten anything new. But my eyelids are red & sometimes inflamed to the point where my parents are telling me to stop using make-up. Which is really hard, haha. Should I go back to using Vitamin E ? Or put nothing on it ? The usual thing I put on my eyelids it Aloe Vera Gelly (99.9%) & Cetaphil Cream. I've had no problems from them before. Help please , I honestly don't want ugly eyelids.

  • Answer:

I would honestly start with a clean slate and not use any make up for a couple of weeks. It's the only way you can weed out the possibilities of what is causing this. Then start adding one thing at a time for a week, then one more the following week. If anything erupts after using one, stop. This is telling you that you are sensitive to that particular brand. You don't want damaging eye problems. Take care!

I was told by a skin specialist to NOT put anything on my eyes unless it was intended for eyes e.g. eye creams; the skin on your eyes is very thin and can be sensitive and plus your eyes are right there and it doesn't often take much to cause irritation and redness. Don't put anything on your eyes unless it specifies it is suitable for use near the eyes...alot of creams and skin products etc say not to apply near the eyes or lips so read labels before just putting something on there. If you want to put something on your eyes, get a proper eye cream for sensitive skin.
