How to cope with really bad skin?

I have no idea what the heck is going on with the skin on my face! I need HELP.?

  • I am a 19 year old male and need some help. I guess I will start from the beginning. I have always had good skin on my face all up to October. I remember coming home from college and noticing the skin under my nose was really dry. I have never really had to put lotion on my face (except suntan lotion). So I put a little lotion on it to make it better. Then later that night I took a shower, and noticed my whole face was getting dry. I was freaking out to say the least. I have always taken hot showers too and there hasn't been a problem up to October, I just thought I would share that. Also, I was using Stridex Oxy Pads for my acne that were alcohol free and I don't know if that would be the problem? I would usually put them on after my showers and go on with my day as usual. I tried a variety of different lotions to cope with this but it seems to keep on coming back. I went to see a dermatologist about this issue and he prescribed me Hydrocortisone Butyrate Cream USP, 0.1% and that helps it a little but doesn't do much. He also prescribed me clindamycin phosphate topical solution for my acne which works wonders! I do work at Wendy's in which I work the grill, so maybe work is affecting my skin? I have always been active too, but ever since summer ended i have been quite lazy. I did run once or twice and played a soccer game, but something unusual happened. It seems like the more I sweat, the more my skin under my nose peels. I find this rather odd. Also, sometimes i will wake up with my nose peeling skin too. I am running out of answers as to why this is doing this, and just want it to go away. It is ruining my self-confidence and if anyone can help me as to telling me what is wrong i would greatly appreciate it. Right now it is only affecting me on my nose, on the edges of my nose, under my nose, and under my mouth sometimes. I am going to see a really good dermatologist (not my previous one) January 5th and I know he will cure the problem, but for now I want something to cope with it until then. I know this was a long story but I would rather explain it a little more than a little less. Any advice would help!!

  • Answer:

make sure you wash off any sweat after you sweat... olive oil and honey moisturize very well and white vinegar is a good cleansing agent
