I have marks from pimples i used to have.

Acne marks on my face and foundation?

  • So basically I had A LOT of acne about 5 months ago. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me with antibiotics. Now my face is nearly free of pimples, but I still have a lot of red marks. I can't have anymore antibiotics, but I'm really self conscious about the red marks. I never used to pop my pimples, but somehow I still have marks in the places where I used to break out. Whenever I feel really cold, these red marks turn blue and they are really visible! I'm so self conscious about my face, that I have to wear foundation every day! I feel really bad if I don't wear any. The way I look is really important for me, and I feel as if a bit of foundation can fix it all! How can I get rid of these marks, or maybe making them less visible? & is there anything wrong with wearing foundation everyday? Do you think foundation is the reason of these marks in the first place? I drink a lot of water, and clean my face everyday. Acne isn't the problem now, just acne marks. Please help me.. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Wearing foundation everyday could make the acne start again. Maybe tone it down. I know what you mean about having the marks. I don't have acne, however I get the odd spot and when it goes it leaves a brown mark! Even when i don't touch it. You could try bio oil, it reduces scarring. Some people say try lemon juice, personally I've not tried it yet but you could. Time is the key though. Five months for your acne to disappear is excellent, usually it takes about one year. So your skin must be good at repairing, which means you could just leave the marks alone and they could go. The foundation could be the reason why you aren't healing becase your skin isn't breathing. Just try some days with no make up and eventually you will get used to it. If you find that difficult, invest in a good tinted moisturiser or a foundation which is good for your skin. Hope that helps!:)
