Why do i have acne? how can i get rid of it?

  • when i was in 5th grade i got my first pimple i didn't think it was a big deal and when i was in 6th grade i started to get more and it wasn't as bad i was still able to go out without makeup i didn't pay much attention to it and it wasn't that bad to worry about so i didn't really do anything to help my acne problem but when i was in 8th grade it got so bad u couldn't see my face i was covered in zits it was so bad people always talked about me and how ugly i was because of my face then i went to a dermatologist that didn't help at all until he gave me accutane it cleared up my skin pretty good for about a yr or two but i still had acne and i wasn't happy with the way i looked all my friends always had boyfriends and none of them had acne i had really pretty friends so it made it harder for me to see myself. All through High school i had acne and now i am in college still with acne its not as bad but i still have to wear makeup and im using Retin-A right now it has gotten better and more guys talk to me now but i am still not happy with the way i look is there anything that can guarantee me clear skin?

You should get the book Breaking Out by Lydia Preston to learn more about acne and the treatments available. I am not affiliated with the book, I just think it is an essential read for anyone with acne. I wish I had got it years ago!

the same thing is happening to me. i was on accutaine and my acne got lots better, but didn't go away completely. my dermo. is thinking about putting me on a birth control pill designed especially for people with acne that won't go away. i would try that if i were you. good luck!

For your case, it seems like you have more social issues and "fitting-in" issues rather than skin problems. Look, everyone gets pimples. Maybe not everyone gets ACNE, but let me just tell you you're not alone. It sounds like maybe you should try and get on birth control. I've heard women say that they tried every product on the shelves and they didn't work, but when they got on birth control their skin cleared up in no time. Stop worrying about your skin and work on your personality. Of course guys won't date you if you're extremely insecure. You need some confidence. (;

I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at. I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life. I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager.
